I miss flying. Long distance flying in particular, because of the opportunity it gives me to catch up on movies I might have missed. Catchup movies and small bottles of spirited alcohol are the things my flights are made of. Yet I am not sure when, or if, I will ever fly again.

The choices Val and I have made around money as we try to wrestle with and understand the situation of great wealth vs much poverty in South Africa strongly affect our ideas of spending money when it comes to holidays in particular. “Let’s save up money and jump on a plane and head to Spain for a few weeks” is not something we are entertaining right now [and it’s hard, cos we’d love to go to Spain, or more importantly South America!] and so we really don’t know if or when that will happen.

But we do have a lot of friends who travel a lot and so this post is for you.

Whether you are a writer or someone who loves to dabble with Instagram, the world of travel blogging might be an amazing avenue for you to showcase your skills.

I received an invitation from Travelstart South Africa, who are known for being one of the top cheap flights’ providers and a leading travel agency in South Africa to tempt you to try your hand at Travel Blogging.

In fact, they have put together this extremely comprehensive chart to give you all the ideas you might need to jump right in:

So what are you waiting for? Is travel blogging something you have ever thought about? Is it something you are already doing? Leave a link to your blog in the comments if it is and also perhaps one piece of advice you would give to someone starting out.

Val and I might not be able to travel at the moment, but we can live our travel dreams vicariously through you and yours in the meantime…
