“When those who hold positions of leadership in the church of Jesus Christ stand opposed to the very heart of God and refuse to submit their lives to His Word, it is the death of life in that church.” [Erwin McManus, an unSTOPPABLE force]
that is just so true. i have seen it and i have been on the receiving end of it. and it always comes down to “me me me me ME me” – and it shouldnt be a surprise i guess because we saw it modelled thru-out the Bible – a lot in the Old Testament by Saul and David and Solomon in different ways, but then a very much lot by the disciples as Jesus tried to show them a most excellenter way – constantly vying for attention and position, they missed the point again and again.
BUT when the Holy Spirit got hold of them, this all changed and so there is hope… for even the deadest of churches and leaderships, but it is going to take God intervention for it to truly happy – no program, no book or seminar, no interventional leader is going to break-thru the rot and debris to get to the heart of the problem. only God. thru His Spirit.
which means when we encounter this knd of attitude or lifestyle or me-eadership our response has to be prayer – calling on God to rescue His church. after all, He definitely loves it more than we do.
Hs church. His mission. His problem. But our opportunity to draw alongside and cry out for Truth and Love and Hope and Life.
If we took all these so called God’s, and duct taped them together along with their so called holy books(Bible Koran etc). Put them on the next rocket ship too nowhere. (“it’s God’s will, God is grest etc.). Then we wouldn’t be killing in the name of God. We really could have that thing people call peace, although they have no concept of what it means. The Bible , Koran Christianity, Islam etc, are the most evil things on this Earth. You can rid youself of such filth, or they will destroy you. It’s totatally your choice.
the message of the Bible Mr Warlord was summed up by Jesus as ‘Love God and love people’ and He added to this that we should lift others above ourselves and look after the poor, needy, sick, naked, in prison and in particular the widows and orphans – i’m not sure what your definition of ‘evil’ is but that seems pretty good to me – and then He demonstrated it all completely by surrendering His life on behalf of others.
i would imagine what you are referring to is more when people have used the Bible and the other holy books and religion and done bad things in the name of God and i am absolutely with you on that in terms of regarding it as offensive and against Who God is and what He stands for – but the premise of the Bible, which is incredible to see when Christians do get it right as they do from time to time – is that of love – i’ll sign up for that!
We don’t need a message too teach us too have love in our hearts, it’t already there. You can ignore it youself, or you can ignore it if somebody tries to teach it too you out of a book. Most everybody wants too accept love, compassion, and the willingness to help those in need, etc, but when you bring God and holy books into it, the result is mayhem and murder. If the world needs a book too tell you not too slaughter people, I don’t know what too tell you. I believe George Bush said he prayed. Well if this is the anwser he got from God, too do what we have done too the people of Iraq, You keep God AND George Bush… That doesn’t mean I don’t wish it was the way you see it …Because I do…But it’s not.
hm, im not sure i agree with your first statement – but its cool we can dialogue about this so thankx for the discussion – because if we read the newspaper or watch the news we see that man is inherently capable of horrible horrible things and so definitely in need of some kind of love injection which i really believe comes in the form of Jesus Christ – your example of Bush backs up what i said – many people claim one thing and live another – i cant judge George Bush but i can say i know countless people who have done bad things and called it Christianity or religion and so on – but when God’s Holy Spirit grips you as it has me then every inclination becomes to do good and want to uplift people and make the world better – do i get it wrong? a lot, i am not perfect – but i have a standard of perfection that God calls me to aim towards and He empowers me to live that way – which gives me life purpose which a lot of people today seem to be lacking.
what do you think is the purpose of living? or is it all just random chance?
