i normally run the Top Tweets list a few weeks after the game but #AnimalTopTwentySongs was such a hit i felt it needed to happen this same week to celebrate the momentum… We decided to imagine what songs might appear on an animal Top 20 Hits list and everybody got on board with one of the most fun games in recent history…

[The Story So Far: Every Wednesday at 12 noon South African time [6 am EDT] an inspired and growing number of brilliant, creative and absolutely fun people from all around the world take part in what is called a Hashtag game. @AFrikkinHashtag [say it out loud] is South Africa’s #1 Hashtag game and is always a lot of fun. The F.L.O.P. [or Fish List Of Prizeworthyness] is the collection of some of the best tweets from each week’s game and is what all seriously comedic Hashtaggers aspire to…]

With the whole UnNamed Ones crew on board we sent out an invitation:

And this is probably the fastest i have seen the game trend hitting the top three in Americaland within minutes and at various times topping both the American and UK trend lists:

We were visited by some of our most favourite bots:

And we had a TON of fun verified visitors playing the game, some of who we captured here and in particular the ones related to animals [game parks, safaris and zoos] were absolutely brilliant but some incredible accounts played the game including:

Not one but TWO tweets from Britain’s Got Talent and really funny ones as well:

i think two more tweets from them and our game would have made it to the second round…

Next up was West Midland Safari who challenged a number of zoos to play giving us the best thread of the game:

But they were not alone with Paradise Wildlife Park getting in on the act with this classic:

West Yorkshire Fire Department wanted to be part of the action:

Brooke, a charity that works with horses around the world got involved:

The game wasn’t even limited to human participation as the crew from CBeebies put up their hands:

Shaun the Sheep bleated out this winner, which was not Baa’d:

And even the cast of Shrek the Musical spun in this winner:

While we were all eating waffles together [it being the morning and all] we were busy being featured on the Washington post by Karin Brulliard @karinbrulliard who delighted us with this piece featuring the game #ThanksWaPo:

And if you think that’s all you’d be mistaken, because we still have to get to the F.L.O.P. which is made up of the tweets of the general population [yes, YOU!] and because this game was so popular that is going to be a longer list than normal and so worthy of having a seperate post so watch out for part II of #AnimalTopTwentySongs coming soon…
