Who doesn’t like FREE stuff, right?
So let’s jump straight to the point which is that i have the latest Chris Tomlin 3 cd collection [a combination of his See the Morning, Hello Love and Burning Lights cds] as well as the Rend Collective Mixtape [a new collection which combines some of your favourite Rend Collective songs].
Chris Tomlin, along with Matt Redman, must be one of the most consistent worship song writers of the past fifteen, twenty years , and tends to be more hit than miss in terms of crafting songs that make it easy to worship God. This collection has classics ranging from Made to worship, Glorious and his rendition of Amazing Grace [my Chains are gone], through Sing, Sing, Sing and God of this City, all the way to his latest which has songs performed with Lecrae [Awake my Soul], Christy Nockels [Jesus, Son of God] and Phil Wickham [Thank you God for saving me]. 35 songs in all making this a collection worth getting your hands on.
Rend Collective on the other hand are probably what would result if Mumford & Sons and Hillsongs United had a baby. Folksy, vibrant, foot-stomping at the loudest while also producing some more quieter and reflective songs. Taken mostly from their Campfire and The Art of Celebration albums, Mix Tape combines some of their favourite songs and no doubt yours.
If you have somehow never heard of Rend Collective, then take a watch of their hit video for my favourite song of theirs: Build Your Kingdom Here which gives you a good taste of what they’re about.
To be the person to own these four amazing cds, all i want to know from you is, ‘What is Chris Tomlin’s middle name?’ Send your answer to brettfish@hotmail.com along with your contact details so i can get hold of you if slash when you win.
Then, like and share this post and if you haven’t already subscribed to my blog it would be super great if you would do that [i suspect i will have more Giveaways on the way] and maybe tag some friends who you think would really love to own these cds.
And that is it. i will do the draw first thing next week and let you know in the comments who the winner is. Good Luck!
CONGRATULATIONS go to Hilary Mushambi for winning the Chris Tomlin/Rend Collective cd giveaway – your cds are on the way… well done and stay tuned for more…
I really don’t think Christian bands are really Christian. How can one sing, make millions out of it and then claim to be doing Jesus’s work?
There are quite a few Christian bands, book writers (CUM books – what a name lol), and even ministers doing this. They make millions out of this. Yes, they are probably good singers, but not really comparable to other rock or whatever bands of their genre. It seems very cheesy in general, Christian bands.
If this is a CD giveaway then its obvious that usually one must buy the CD. Of course there are operational costs of touring, sound rigs, airplane flights (first class of course), but if one looks at the net worth of these rock singers, how much is it? Millions? Tens of millions?
It seems any ordinary rock band who is mediocre, could switch to Christian theme and then make much more money.
I have some trouble with millionaire Christians as it does go against the Bible teachings.
Lastly why are you giving these away on your blog, why not just go to a local poor area and hand deliver it to some people? What is your motive here?
i think you make some absolutely true points here and i question Christians with money who don’t use it well to serve others no matter what part of life they are from, but especially ministers and worship artists… i don’t know that millionaire christians go against God’s word [i personally probably believe that it should] but the bible does express that it is harder for rich christians to follow God well and stress that they need to use their resources to look out for the least of these and extend the kingdom – so if there is a rich millionaire who is using money like that and hopefully living simply as well [although that’s probably unlikely] then them having lots of money means they can continue to help others and so hopefully that continues to happen well. But i don’t think it’s easy.
i was given the cds to give them away through my blog so i have to do that. i’m not sure worship cds are super among the list of priorities of the poor but it is good that you have them in mind… i think i will continue to help them in other more practical ways…
Thanks for stopping by

If they not a priority for the poor, then same for the less poor, middle class and wealthy?
i’m not sure what point you are trying to make…
The point here is that you are advertising. Do you really think this is worship? Singing songs and watching a band? Its called band worship and its been around since the Beatles. Why is everyone looking up at the sky for God? Is he sitting on a cloud? God is everywhere where its difficult and there is no uplifting music. The miner deep in the mines reading the Bible. The man on the train going to work at 5AM in the cold winter. Its a joke and an insult to think that he’d be there or that this is of any worth when a bunch of teenagers get dropped off by their parents to go into a big group selfie photo singalong at some band. In 4 years time those same teens will be out clubbing in the real world.
You’d send a better message and gain far more publicity if you broke those cds and did a youtube video of that. You might even go viral and then you’d get your real message across (which you seem to have lost).
Christian CD adverts, CUM books make me want to puke. Here you are as a poor guy, advertising this to all your hundreds or even thousands of followers. Does Chris the singer ever give you a call to thank you? Does he pay you or donate to a charity of your choice?
Don’t fall for this, you’re better than that.
Thanks Rhia. To me worship music is really just prayers that have been put to music. And while i agree with you that it has definitely been abused and in many cases for money or fame or whatever else, Chris Tomlin [who is someone i have met and hung out with a very little bit] and Matt Redman and a guy called Tim Hughes feel like some of the most genuine people around. i don’t believe they are in it for that at all. Rend Collective i don’t know personally but some of the lyrics of their songs suggest they get it as well.
i agree with you too that God is everywhere and especially where things are difficult and i think in those places there is a space for music and words that echo the reality and contain lament and heartbreak but also those that contain hope and promise.
i am not falling for anything – this is my blog and i get to do what i choose to on it and you get to choose to follow it or not. i was given some free cds to give away and that seemed like a nice thing and so i did it, and i will probably do it again. With or without you.
Have a good one
