Before today i had never heard of Akala [sorry, bro!]
But then on the Facebook i clicked on a video clip that my friend Terence had tagged me in and was powerfully moved.
And just now on the Twitterer i watched this clip, which is brilliant and heart-breaking all in one:
Everyday racism: what should we do? – Akala pic.twitter.com/kJK5VhIpqz

A little Wikapedia’ing and this is what i found:
Kingslee James Daley, better known by the stage name Akala, is an English rapper and poet. Originally from Kentish Town, London, his older sister is rapper/vocalist Ms. Dynamite. In 2006, he was voted the Best Hip Hop Act at the MOBO Awards.
And this is the first time i heard him speak:
i will be looking out for more from him. So exciting to see voices like these rising to the top.
This guy probably has the clearest view of structural racism I’ve ever heard.
Thank you for connecting me – so clear, so obvious, so great!
I saw him the other day at Africa Writes but it was so busy in there, I didn’t get to speak to him. He is very clear headed in his arguments, it’s refreshing. Check out his write up on the referendum http://illastate.posthaven.com
