i’m ‘sorry’ i offended you

i subscribe to a daily comic called Pearls Before Swine by Stephan Pastis and have most of the annuals (excepting the latest one if anyone from overseasland wants to be nice... mmm...) and this cartoon really catches the heart of the cynicism of rat and the innocence of pig, his two main characters... one of the ways we amused ourselves on the orange river trip i just came back from was by playing this game that andrew vaughan had made up with i think it was andrew kerr a while ago - it was the game of 'how's business?' and it goes a little something like this: brett: i've recently started a new business andrew: what business is it? brett: we make wind-producing machines out of rice andrew: [...]

for the sake of the chores part ii

ah bless (as they would say in the englandited kingdom) it seems the thing about not being able to read tone from an email (so don't ever have an argument via email - go live, really - meaning received quickly becomes not meaning sent) applies to blogs too yesterday's bermuda time triangle in marriage thort which i had intended as a light-hearted whimsical tongue-in-cheek adrian mole/adrian plass type "where's-the-time" montage was interpreted as a serious [...]

kevin "tweet-her"-son

The 30-year-old batsman announced he had been dropped via Twitter, with his angry tweet including an expletive. "It came out in the way that I didn't want it to come [...]

the cricketing giants clash

ah, this read makes me happy sneak into cricinfo to check out latest cricketing news and confirm a great pakistan victory over england to see the usa have won a comprehensive division four title... but what makes it a happy place moment is reading the three line-ups: usa beat italy by eight wickets for first and second place nepal (yes, you read that right) crushed tanzania (again!) by ten wickets for third and fourth and [...]
