pearls before swine

pearls before winners

yes, yes, you know it - favourite cartoon strip blah blah blah Pearls before Swine... this one being incredible both for the humour but more importantly for the invention of the word "winnery" [join my PBS campaign - for years now i have been subtly trying to encourage Stephan Pastis, creator of Pearls Before Swine to add a new character - that of a yellow and white stuffed dolphin called No_bob [because he doesn't bob] [...]

Poorly Drawn Lines

via the Tweeter this morning i received a link to a cartoon page i have not seen before and was immediately mesmerised by the dark edginess of the injured boy raking up leaves where he lay... having scrolled down and taken in some more of them, there seems to be an ongoing theme of slightly dark and edgy and i appreciate that in a cartoon - these are four that stuck out for me but [...]

actually it IS the end of the world [as we know it]

as depicted so well in my previous post by Stephan Pastis of Pearls Before Swine cartoon fame, R.E.M. had something when they came up with their hit song that 73% of people know the two words "Leonard Bernstein" [but is it pronounced Steen or Styn? another mystery] to - It's the end of the world as we know it. with Australia and Americaland being on different days for a huge portion of any 24 hour [...]

it's the end of the world as we [me, R.E.M. and Stephan Pastis] know it…

turns out the Mayans were wrong. or the apocalypse is working on African time. or we were wrong in predicting that just cos the Mayans didn't carve a stone big enough to fit more days on that it meant the end of the world [were they maybe just trying to get us all to buy the next stone, hm?] but whichever one it was, i figured this was a great moment to whip out one [...]

this is too much of truth, if only it were possible…

as you will probably know if you have followed my writings for any amount of time, my favourite cartoon strip is called 'Pearls before Swine' by Stephan Pastis [who stubbornly continues to refuse to add a stuffed dolphin called 'No_bob' [because he doesn't] to his series, fearful of the unmanageable rise in book sales i imagine] and every now and then he just completely nails life on the head like in this one: [For a [...]

one of my favourite cartoon strips is called 'Pearls Before Swine' and in this one i think Stephan Pastis nails it on the head [the premise is rat who is a cynical and mean character rediscovers the chest in the attic where he locked his conscience many years before]: [For another great Pearls Before Swine moment, this time involving a mini-thesis from me on being Facebook poked, click here]

goodness gracious, great pearls of fire

i love the cartoon 'Pearls before Swine' by Stephan Pastis. this is just one of the reasons why? [reminds me of an obscure joke from an obscure comedy murder mystery whose title i cannot remember but which starred richard lewis] [For another great but deep Pearls Before Swine cartoon this time involving a discovery in an attic, click here]

Fasting Morons

Pearls before Swine is my favourite cartoon being drawn today - i REALLY loved [and related to] this one - you can see more and subscribe to the daily cartoons here   [And if you enjoyed that then you will most likely enjoy what I think is one of the funniest-because-it-is-pretty-much-absolutely-true 'est cartoons on R.E.M. song lyrics]
