BIBLE THINGS
When switching from my old website to my new one, not everything made the jump and so i am creating this as a base page to stick helpful links about Bible-related things that will hopefully prove to be helpful resoources for you.
So far i have worked through the Psalms in a series i called ‘Psalmthings’, and then i did short video blogs through the book of Mark in a series called ‘Mark: My words’ and i also did a section where i looked at various of my ‘Favourite Verses’ that i enjoy and spoke a little bit about why.
In the not too distant future i will hopefully have the links back in here so you can make the most of them…
The Greatest Story Ever Told
There is something about that story. Whether sitting watching a Veggie Tales ‘Drummer Boy’ Christmas with two of our nieces, or heading out at 11pm last night for a ‘midnight’ service at St John’s Parish [...]
Prosperity as a Blessing from God
Continuing with a read through of this chapter from Ron Sider’s ‘Rich Christians in an Age of Hunger’ starting where we left off: Possessions are highly dangerous. They lead to a multitude of sins, including [...]
Tossing the Greedy out of the Church
As we continue to seek out A Carefree Attitude Towards Possessions through the lens of Ron Sider’s challenging book, ‘Rich Christians in an Age of Hunger’ let me go back a paragraph to remind us [...]

A Good Day To Die
When Jesus walked the earth, He called many people to follow Him. And the crowds showed up. He spoke Truth and Life. He reached out to those at the margins, which in His day included [...]
psalmthing to chew on: psalm 72
This is an interesting psalm: the heading in my bible says, 'Of Solomon' and yet verse 29 says 'this concludes the prayers of David, son of Jesse' so who actually wrote it? And if you [...]
Giving that costs
When it comes to money and using it well, i believe this is something that relates to everyone, not exclusively Christ followers. But, writing as a Christ follower, i will give Biblical backing for the [...]
The Koeksuster of Faith [or What Happens when i doubt?] – part II
So yesterday i took a bit of a look at the idea of doubt from the perspective of being someone who is a follower of Jesus. Is it okay to doubt? Is doubt helpful? Should [...]
The Koeksuster of Faith [or What Happens when i doubt?] – part I
A while back someone asked me to write a blog post or series about Doubt and i already had this post's heading sitting in my draft box waiting to be written. So today i try to [...]
psalmthing to chew on: psalm 71
This feels like a psalm for old people [like me]. So if you're not even partly old, maybe bookmark this and come back and read it in ten years or so... And seriously go and [...]
psalmthing to chew on: psalm 70
Psalm number 70 is not the Lords of the Rings of the Psalming community. And because it is so short, i thought it would be helpful to actually just meditate on the whole thing together: 1 Hasten, [...]
